The membership of Rotary is an intentional mixture of people who represent the local businesses, and who

                         are in positions of leadership within their organizations. This is not restricted to management alone, but also

                         includes the various professionals and in many cases technicians. Although originally a male only organization,

                         Rotary has recruited and accepted women for several years now. The Merrillville Club currently has 20%

                        female members, three of who have served as President and 5 of who have recieved the prestigious Paul Harris

                        Fellowship Award. Its membership is made up of all ethnic  and religious (or non-religious) groups.
